The History of Pressure Washing

The pressure washing industry's roots can be traced back to 1926, when Frank W. Ofeldt II, while working on a whiskey still, accidentally discovered the effectiveness of high-pressure steam for cleaning grease. This led to the invention of the first high-pressure washer and the eventual birth of the pressure washing industry. Alfred Kärcher, a German inventor, is credited with inventing the first portable pressure washer in 1950. Today, pressure washing is a worldwide, multi-billion dollar industry that employs hundreds of thousands of people.
